Diabetes currently affects nearly 200 million people worldwide and is estimated to afflict over 330 million people by 2030. Despite the fact that one out of every ten U.S. healthcare dollars is spent on diabetes and its complications, there are a large number of unmet clinical needs. By developing orally administered insulin nanoparticles, NanoMega aspires to meet one of these needs: the demand for painless medication management.
